Our Proven Management Consulting Process Consistently Delivers the Right Candidates
Weeks 1-2
DISCUSS THE DETAILS OF THE POSITION WITH YOUR TEAM
Conference with other relevant members of your organization to discuss the details of the position (role, responsibilities, duties, assessing challenges and expectations) and ideal person (skills, experiences, and attributes), as well as to assess your environment and culture, when appropriate.
CONSTRUCT THE POSITION PROFILE
Based on or discussions with you and other members of your organization, we will develop and construct a position profile. This is perhaps the single most important part of the search process at the onset. This profile serves as the search template and will be shared with prospective candidates. It is therefore critical that you, and all other key members in the hiring process, review the document. The search will not commence until there is 100% agreement on the language and intention of the search profile, depending on the search.
LIST OF TARGET COMPANIES and PEOPLE
We develop a list of target firms where the candidate may presently be employed and make telephone contact with industry experts who will refer us to qualified candidates. We contact 125-175 industry contacts to identify the right people for you, depending on the search.
Weeks 3-4
PRELIMINARY SLATE DEVELOPED
We develop a preliminary slate of potential candidates based upon the above description and begin to evaluate their qualifications through telephone interviews.
FIRST ROUND OF INTERVIEWS
We conduct 1st round interviews and “surface level” reference checks on 15 to 20 promising candidates.
SLATE OF CANDIDATES PREPARED
We then prepare a final slate of 3 to 4 of the most qualified candidates for presentation to our client.
Weeks 5-6
CLIENT – CANDIDATE INTERVIEWS
We schedule and conduct 1st round client-candidate interviews. When desired, a Managing Director from The Landstone Group will be present at all executive level interviews, which are typically arranged over a period of 2 or 3 consecutive days.
FINAL ROUND OF CLIENT – CANDIDATE INTERVIEWS
We develop a “short list” of 2 to 3 candidates for a final round of client-candidate interviews and perform in-depth reference checks on each of the “short list” candidates and prepare summaries for presentation to the client, ending with a 2nd and final round of client-candidate interviews.
Weeks 7-8
ASSESS THE FINALISTS
We assist our client in assessing the relative strengths and abilities of each finalist and which would be best for the company and their future growth.
ASSIST IN DEVELOPING THE OFFER
We work with our client in developing an offer that will secure the selected candidate and present the offer to the candidate.
ASSIST IN THE TRANSITION
We then assist the successful candidate with the resignation procedure, including preparation for a counter-offer, and help to facilitate an easy transition.
Weeks 9
SUCCESS
We know that the success of the search lies in the success of the individual. To insure this, we remain as an outside consultant to the new employee. This assures that the individual not only has a transition team, but also has an outside source to the industry.
